Hi, I'm Shermyn!

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the weight of modern life (or if your brain feels like it has too many tabs open), I’m glad you’re here. Life can feel like a constant pressure cooker. Whether you’re a teen juggling school, a young adult finding your footing, or an adult managing work, family, and everything in between, it’s easy to feel like you’re losing your sense of peace

My Approach: Experience Meets Empathy

Since 2011, I’ve worked with teens and adults in a psychiatric rehabilitation setting, a university counselling centre, and community settings. I’ve seen how trauma, stress, and burnout can quietly shape someone’s whole life. Those 15 years have also taught me that there is no "textbook" person. Everyone deserves a space where they don’t have to perform or meet anyone else's expectations.

I specialise in helping people work through trauma, anxiety, and depression - but more importantly, I specialise in you. Beyond the clinical labels, I’m here for the things that keep you up at night: relationship friction, school or work stress, burnout, or the stuck feeling of repeating the same patterns even when you’re trying your best

A Space That’s Actually Yours

I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I’m not here to tell you who to be or what to feel; I’m here to help you notice what’s really going on inside, rediscover your strengths, and build tools that fit your real life. My aim is to offer a trauma-informed, non-judgmental space where we move beyond just "coping" and work toward genuine healing, at a pace that feels safe for you.

Whether you come in chatty, quiet, unsure, or somewhere in between, you can show up as you are. We’ll figure things out together

Who I Am, Off the Clock

Outside the therapy room, I find my own calm in the simple things: a walk in nature, a good book, or some “kitchen therapy” while baking. As a foodie, I love discovering new places to eat and catching up with friends over good food.

I’m also a fan of slow afternoons and a really good cup of coffee (ideally made by my husband). These moments of quiet and connection help me recharge so I can show up fully for you

Giving it one more shot?

Therapy might be completely new to you, or you might be coming in after a difficult or disappointing experience. If you’re feeling unsure or cautious, that makes sense. You’re not alone. I’m happy to connect for a brief chat so you can get a feel for how I work and see if we might be a good fit for your journey

Services

Clinical Services

Life changes, intense emotions, and relationship stress can build up until everything feels like “too much.” You might be keeping it all inside because you don’t want to worry your family, burden your friends, or be “the difficult one” at work or school. Whether you’re a teen, young adult, parent, or professional, you deserve a space where you don’t have to pretend you’re okay. Here are the main ways we can work together

In-person or online

Individual Therapy (Teens & Adults)

One‑on‑one sessions to work through what’s really been weighing on you – trauma, anxiety, low mood, burnout, or feeling stuck in old patterns. Together, we’ll slow things down, make sense of what’s happening inside, and build tools that fit your real life.
